Isaiah dark night

My tears have been my food day and night, While they say to me all day long, “Where is your God?” These things I remember and I pour out my soul within me. For I used to go along with the throng and lead them in procession to the house of God, With the voice of joy and thanksgiving, a multitude keeping festival. — Psalm 42:3-4 For You are the God of my strength; why have You rejected me? Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy? O send out Your light and Your truth, let them lead me; Let them bring me to Your holy hill And to Your dwelling places. — Psalm 43:2-3 A Psalm of Asaph. The Mighty One, God, the Lord, has spoken, And summoned the earth from the rising of the sun to its setting. Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God has shone forth. May our God come and not keep silence; Fire devours before Him, And it is very tempestuous around Him. He summons the heavens above, And the earth, to judge His people: “Gather My godly ones to Me, Those who have made a cov...

Universal Dimensions - Thoughts

The universe , with its manifold dimensions, has demonstrated a conspicuous and unambiguous essence, purpose, and indispensability.  Its being and activity have been patently evident, and its importance and influence in shaping the cosmos have been widely recognized.  The intricate interplay of its constituent elements, ranging from the minutest subatomic particles to the grandest celestial bodies, has generated a complex and dynamic system that has sustained life and enabled the evolution of the universe. Therefore, the universe's essential characteristics and operations have been a matter of intense philosophical inquiry and contemplation, yielding profound insights into the nature of reality and our position therein.

A Priori

A Priori is a Latin term used in philosophy to refer to knowledge that is independent of experience, observation, or other empirical evidence. A proposition that is known a priori can be considered to be true independently of any specific instance or situation. The term is often contrasted with its opposite, a posteriori, which describes knowledge that is based on observation, experience, or evidence. The distinction between a priori and a posteriori knowledge is an important concept in epistemology, the branch of philosophy concerned with knowledge and belief.

What Does Scripture Mean By Foreknowledge?

“Foreknew” –The English word "foreknew" is misleading here. God’s purpose spoken of in v 28 is this: to make believers like Christ  It is a mistake to read it merely as ‘perceiving beforehand’.  The (arguably false)  argument is:  "God knows beforehand who will believe on Him and who will not, as a result of which He predestined to salvation those whom He foresaw would believe on Him. Meaning, what He foreknows or foresees is their faith."  But logical thinking will show that such "predestination" is not predestination at all. What this describes is He “says yes to” someone's faith which He foresees will be there. This would make foreknown faith as a work of merit, missing the mark of translating the original word. Even worse, it also misses the very point of the passage in it's context. The verse does not say that" God foreknew what certain of his creatures would do". It is not talking about human actions at all. "Those whom He fore...

What It Is To Be Called By God:

What Does ‘Many Are Called Few Are Chosen’ Mean in the Bible? “And again Jesus spoke to them in parables, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who gave a wedding feast for his son, and sent his servants to call those who were invited to the wedding feast, but they would not come. Again he sent other servants, saying, 'Tell those who are invited, See, I have prepared my dinner, my oxen and my fat calves have been slaughtered, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding feast.' But they paid no attention and went off, one to his farm, another to his business, while the rest seized his servants, treated them shamefully, and killed them. The king was angry, and he sent his troops and destroyed those murderers and burned their city. Then he said to his servants, 'The wedding feast is ready, but those invited were not worthy. Go therefore to the main roads and invite to the wedding feast as many as you find.' And those servants went out into the roads and...

Dead In Trespasses And Sins

Ephesians 2:1-2, which states: "And you were dead in your trespasses and sins, in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience." This verse suggests that our sins had separated us from God and that we were spiritually dead as a result. This separation made it impossible for us to have a relationship with God, and we were instead following the ways of the world and the devil. However, the good news is that through accepting Jesus and his sacrifice for our sins, we can be made alive in Christ and be reconciled with God. As it says in Ephesians 2:4-5: "But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved)." So while we were once dead in our sins, we can now have new life and a restored relationship with G...

Chosen

...even as he has chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love  Ephesians 1:4 1:4  “Chosen” –  Mark 13:20 is a passage from the Bible that reads, "And except that the Lord had shortened those days [1] [2] , no flesh should be saved: but for the elect's sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days."  ;  John 15:16  "You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit--fruit that will last--and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you." Romans 8:33 is a Bible verse that says: "Who shall bring any charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies."  2 Thessalonians 2:13 says "But we ought always to give thanks to God for you [1][2], brothers beloved by the Lord, because God chose you as the firstfruits to be saved [1][2], through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth.";   1 Pet 2:9 ."But...

Romans 8:29 Breakdown

And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according go his purpose. For whom he foreknew, he also predestined to become conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the first-born among many brethren; and whom he predestined, these he also called; and whom he called, these he also justified; and whom he justified, these he also glorified. Romans 8:29 Four Parts of Romans 8:29  The connection with verse 28. "FOR whom he foreknew . . . " The meaning of God's foreknowledge. "For whom he FOREKNEW, he also predestined . . . Children of Wrath

“Dead” – no one separated from Christ has true spiritual life. Because everyone has sinned ( Rom 3:23 ) every person is spiritually dead until Christ gives him new life. This death means separation from God’s life and fellowship –  4:18 ;  Isa 59:1-2 . See  Gen 2:17 ;  John 5:24 ;  Rom 7:5 ;  8:6 ;  Col 2:13 ;  1 Tim 5:6 ;  Jam 1:15 ;  1 John 3:14 . This is the reason the new birth is essential for salvation. See  John 1:12-13 ;  3:3-8

Faith Is A Gift

This was the teaching of the Lord expressly All that the Father gives me will come to me, and the one who comes to me I will not at all send away.  For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23 “For I came down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him who sent me.  And this is the will of the Father who has sent me, that of all whom he has given me I should lose none, but should raise them up again at the last day. John 6:37-39 No man can come to me unless the Father who has sent me draws him. And I will raise him up at the last day. John 6:44 For what does the Scripture say? Abraham believed God, and it was put to his account as righteousness. Now to him who works his wage is not reckoned as grace, but as something owed.  But to him who does not work but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, that faith is put to his account as righteousness.  Romans 4:3-5 Only let your conduct be worthy o...

Prescience Defined

Prescience is a concept that has been revered and debated for centuries. It is defined as the ability to know the future or to have knowledge of things before they occur. In the Bible, prescience is attributed to God and is part of His omniscience, which is His perfect knowledge of all things. This ability to know the future is not based on speculation or guesswork, but on His perfect and infallible wisdom. The idea of God's prescience is deeply rooted in the biblical text. Throughout the Old Testament, we see numerous examples of God's prescience through His prophecies. For instance, in the book of Isaiah, God prophesies that a virgin will give birth to a son and that he will be called Immanuel (Isaiah 7:14). This prophecy was fulfilled hundreds of years later when Jesus Christ was born of a virgin in Bethlehem. Another example of God's prescience can be found in the book of Daniel. In this book, God gives Daniel a vision of the rise and fall of various empires. This visio...

Anthropomorphic forms

Anthropomorphic forms are physical objects or designs that take on human-like characteristics or qualities. This can refer to objects that physically resemble human forms, such as anthropomorphic robots or figurines, but it can also refer to the use of human-like movements, gestures, or expressions in products or designs. Anthropomorphism has been used in design and art throughout history, with examples ranging from ancient Greek statues to contemporary product designs. The appeal of anthropomorphic forms may stem from a natural human tendency to find forms that appear humanoid or exhibit human-like characteristics appealing [1] , as described by the universal principle of design known as Anthropomorphic Form. Overall, anthropomorphic forms can serve functional and cultural purposes in artifacts and can also express deeper cultural or psychological meanings.

Determinism

God's foreknowledge of Christ's sacrifice on the cross was not just a passive awareness, but an active plan to redeem humanity from the grip of sin and death. Through Christ's death and resurrection, God's sovereign plan of salvation was fulfilled, and those who believe in him are saved from eternal separation from God.  God's foreknowledge is not limited to the grand scheme of salvation history, but extends to the intimate details of our lives. He knows our past, present, and future, and his plans for us are good and perfect ( Jer 29:11 ). Even when we face trials and hardships, we can trust that God is working all things for our good ( Rom 8:28 ).  In light of God's foreknowledge, we can have confidence in his sovereignty and trust that his plans will ultimately prevail. We can rest in the assurance that nothing can separate us from his love ( Rom 8:38-39 ), and that he will guide us through every step of our journey. May we seek to align our will with his, tr...

The Predestination Of Jesus’ Betrayal and Death

God Predetermined (destined)  Jesus ' Death While some may find it difficult to accept, the Scriptures make it clear that Jesus’ life, work and death had been preordained by God from   before the beginning of time. The Gospel of Mark provides an example in which we can see this truth being expressed: “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and give his life as a ransom for many” Mark 10:45 This verse reveals that Jesus was destined from eternity past to serve mankind through His sacrificial death on our behalf. In addition, there are numerous other passages throughout Scripture which point towards God’s predestined plan for Christ’s coming into this world. IT PLEASED THE LORD TO BRUISE HIM Isaiah 53  is filled with prophecies about what would happen when He came—His suffering and death—all written hundreds years prior! Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him. He put him to grief. When you make his soul an offering for sin, He will see his offs...

Theories Of Truth - Philosophy

Philosophical arguments that support the concept of an absolute truth: The correspondence theory of truth: According to this theory, truth is a matter of accurately representing reality. In other words, a statement or belief is true if it corresponds with the facts. This view implies that truth is objective and independent of individual perspectives or cultures. The coherence theory of truth: This theory asserts that truth is a matter of logical consistency within a set of beliefs or propositions. For example, if someone claims to value honesty but lies consistently, their statements are not coherent with their supposed values. This view suggests that there are certain logical principles that apply universally and are not relative to specific individuals or cultures. The pragmatic theory of truth: This theory defines truth in terms of its practical consequences. For instance, if a scientific theory is widely accepted and provides practical benefits, it is considered as true. This vie...

Pre-tribulation Deception

Do you believe in the pre-tribulation rapture? Are you one of those who want to be taken away? It's time to rethink this doctrine and examine it in the light of the Word of God. Matthew 24:40 is often quoted to support the idea of a secret rapture, but if we read the preceding verses, we find a different picture. As in the days of Noah, people were caught up in their own affairs and did not heed the warning of the coming flood. They were taken away, not Noah, who was prepared and ready. This pattern repeats itself in the end times, where another flood of lies will be widespread. False teachers, who preach the rapture doctrine, mislead people and prevent them from delving deeper into the Word of God to understand end-time events. Luke 17 further strengthens the understanding that the one taken is not the blessed one. Vultures or scavengers prey on the spiritually dead, and Satan and his agents use this deception to take advantage of the spiritually unprepared. Christ is coming like ...

Nurturing Spiritual Growth in the Lord: Unveiling the True Path to Transformation

In a world plagued by false prophets and diluted biblical doctrines, it becomes crucial to seek genuine spiritual growth in the Lord. The pursuit of self-serving interests and the love of money have tainted the essence of true faith, leading many astray from the path of righteousness. In this article, we will explore the lesser-known aspects of growing spiritually in the Lord, shedding light on the importance of humility, brokenness, and the transformation of the heart. By embracing these principles, we can align ourselves with God's purpose and experience true spiritual growth. The Power of Brokenness and Abandoning the Ego Embracing Humility as the Gateway to Spiritual Transformation True spiritual growth begins with a humble and contrite heart. The ego-driven desire for self-glorification and the pursuit of worldly achievements hinder our ability to connect with God on a deeper level. It is through brokenness and the abandonment of the ego that we can truly surrender ourselves t...
